It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Layne M. Roberts on June 18th 2022 at McLaren Bay Region Hospital, in Bay City Michigan with his loved ones by his side. On October 27, 1967 Layne was born to Richard and Diane (Capling) Roberts in Harbor Beach Michigan. He was the eldest of five siblings. Layne was intelligent, kind hearted, handsome, had a beautiful smile, and was blessed with many talents, one of which was music. Layne learned to play the ukulele at the age of six, and later learned to play the guitar, piano, accordion, and harmonica, he especially loved the guitar. In his youth, he enjoyed smelt and sucker fishing with family and friends at the creek by his grandparent's house on Lake Huron, building snow forts and sledding with his siblings, and cousins next door. Layne enjoyed hunting with his dad, and later hunted in Northern Michigan with friends, and was an excellent marksman. He raised ducks and chickens, loved dogs, riding horses and was an excellent gardener. He was the type of person who would help anyone in need. Layne worked as an electrician for many years, and was a member of the INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS L.U. 58., and earned the top license of Master Electrician with expertise in commercial and residential electrical installation, air conditioning, refrigeration, heating/furnace repair, etc.. Layne was a perfectionist and excelled in the exacting nature this work required. He made friends in his chosen field, and earned the respect of so many of his peers. When he entered a room, his presence was known without him having to say a word. Layne will be very dearly missed.
