He married Therese Rose Langenburg September 13, 1952 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Argyle. She died November 4, 2004. Marshall worked for Ford Motor Company at the Wixom plant in Quality Control retiring after over 40 years. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II in Brazil, North Africa, Rome and Paris working as an in-flight engineer/mechanic. During his military service time, Marshall was awarded The American Theater Ribbon, The Good Conduct Medal, The EAM Theater Ribbon, and The Victory Medal World War II. In addition, he was in the active reserve during the Korean War. Marshall grew large gardens. He could grow anything. As a young family they grew, canned, composted everything they could. They raised chickens, rabbits, ducks and the occasional pig and cow. They were self sufficient. As a family they gathered after church for a large Sunday dinner and were together each evening at 5 for dinner. Marshall enjoyed big game hunting including trips West for elk, antelope and mule deer and to Canada to hunt moose. The children were brought along on the fishing trips in Canada to endure the cold, the bears and the mosquitoes but most importantly to make memories. Marshall was very well read and kept up to date on current affairs. He enjoyed a good practical joke. He was a VFW member and a Knights of Columbus member. The last few winters found Marshall enjoying the sun in Dunedin, Florida with his sister and family members.
