In keeping with her wishes there will be no public service at this time. Cremation has taken place and private services will be conducted for the family. Arrangements are be handled by the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton, MI. Her cremains will be buried with her husband in Grandlawn Cemetery, Pigeon, MI. Family of the Deceased

Survived by three children; Patti Staub of Pigeon,MI ; Gregg (Betsy) Benda of Pigeon, MI ; and Scott Benda of Bad Axe, MI; three grandchildren, whom she was very proud of, Brad and Brandon Zinger of Pigeon and Natalie (Andy) Lysaker of Chicago, IL; also surviving is her sister, Margaret Peruski of Ubly, MI and many in-laws; nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Charles in 1996 and three siblings, Frank, George and Ann.

Biography

Mary Benda age 83 of Chandler Twp near Caseville died Saturday afternoon, August 8 at Covenant Hospital, Saginaw. Mary had been a resident at Courtney Manor the past two years. She was born January 6, 1932 in White Pigeon, MI to the late Frank and Katherine (Tomaszewsky) Debrowolsky. On October 30, 1948, she was united in marriage to Charles R Benda in Pigeon. They made their home on a farm in Chandler Township by Caseville, MI. Together they farmed and raised three children. Mary was an avid gardener and farmer. She had many hobby’s and a passion for cooking and baking.
