Funeral Information

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018 at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe with Rev. William O’Nan officiating. Burial will follow at Colfax Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the MacAlpine Funeral Home and on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service. She is survived by her children: Norman Miller and his wife, Clarissa of Bad Axe, June Carter and her husband, Dennis of Bay Port, Roger Miller of Bad Axe, Karen Landenberg and her boyfriend, Eugene Guza of Bad Axe, and Brian Miller and his wife, Mary of Bad Axe; her grandchildren who she adored: Michael, Terry and Amy Miller, Donna Miller, Jeremy, and Justin Carter, Allen, Chealse and Jordan Miller, Joseph and Kyle Landenberg and Jacob and Alexis Miller; step-grandchildren: Sonia Fleming and Marilyn Strozeski; great-grandchildren: William Pfaff, Timothy and Chasity Miller, Zachary, Christopher, Maggie and April Carter, Marissa, and Cheyanne, Eli and Chayton Abbe. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her siblings, Charlie, Carl and Jim Haley and Dorothy Hunter.

Biography

Mary Ellen Miller, 82, of Colfax Township, passed away on June 10, 2018 at McLaren Bay Regional Hospital in Bay City, Michigan. She was born in Bad Axe on August 15, 1935 to the late James and Mildred (Wheir) Haley. Mary Ellen graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1954. On August 7, 1954, she married Lloyd Miller. He preceded her in death on January 17, 1996. Mary Ellen loved horses. She was in the Indian Trails Riding Club and Handy Riders. Mary Ellen enjoyed helping out with the 4 H Club. She also enjoyed watching birds, gardening, canning, cooking and baking, scrapbooking and collecting antiques. Mary Ellen loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
