Mary is survived by her children: JoAnn (Peter) Franks of Lake Orion, Peggy (Dan) Ulfig of Cass City, Carl Yens of Silverwood, Jackie (Scott) Robinson of OH, Kelly West of Tampa, FL; grandchildren: Cindy (Dominic) Battiston, Bryan Franks, Paul Ulfig, Corey Ulfig, Shelly (Nathan) Klein, Christine Thorton, Whitney Robinson, Evan Robinson, Josh West; great grandchildren; Ashley, Alexis, Gavin, Ellie, Isabella, Benjamin, Dominic, Olive; sister, Karen Woodward of Cass City; brother, William Emerick of Port Hope; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Cynthia Lapeer; sister, Alma Mann; brothers: Roy Emerick, Eugene Emerick, Delbert Emerick.
Mary J. Rabideau, 83, of Cass City, died Tuesday, November 4, 2014 in her home. She was born April 18, 1931 in Port Hope the fourth child born to Stanley R. and Bessie Ann (Haggerty) Emerick. She married Carl Yens in 1950. She later married Jack LaPeer April 15, 1957. He died November 20, 1973. Mary married Pat Rabideau who died July 29, 2006. Mary attended Port Hope High School. She worked for General Cable for 19 years. Mary was a talented wallpaper hanger and painter. She loved and was an excellent golfer, holding the top woman golfer record at Rolling Hills Golf Course for many years. Mary's golfing friends were family. She also enjoyed playing Bridge and quilting, making many beautiful quilts. Mary earned her pilot's license many years ago after completing her solo flight in 1984.
