The Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Hayes United Methodist Church, with Pastor Brian Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Caseville Township Cemetery. A Masonic Memorial service will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 19 at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hayes United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife, Marie, he is survived by two children, Kay (Greg) Kingsbury of Bad Axe and Keith (Stephanie) Leipprandt of Caseville; two grandchildren, Nicholas Leipprandt and Barbara Leipprandt; two step grandchildren, Michele (Jason) Grant and Dan (Judy) Kingsbury; three step great-grandchildren, Stefano, Luke, and Jacob; a brother, John (Mary) Leipprandt of Pigeon; a sister, Alyce Kleinfeld of Pigeon; a brother-in-law, Joe (Veronica) Rothfuss of Caro; a sister-in-law, Jackie Rothfuss of Bridgman; several cousins, nieces, nephews; and many friends.

Biography

Paul George Leipprandt, 86 of Pigeon, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 at home. Born in McKinley Township on October 18, 1926, he was the son of the late Hugo F. and Ethel (Ackerman) Leipprandt, and attended the Hayes School. On November 17, 1956 he was united in marriage to Muriel A. Ryan at Grace Bible Baptist Church, Ann Arbor and she preceded him in death on February 18, 1961. He was united in marriage to Marie A. Rothfuss at Salem EUB Church, Pigeon, on June 17, 1967; she survives him. Paul was a 1944 Pigeon High School graduate and then attended Michigan State College for two years. He was a dairy farmer throughout his lifetime. He has been a state officer with the Junior Farm Bureau. He was a member and treasurer of the Huron County Dairy Promotion Committee and served on various state and local farm and dairy committees. He was a member of the Michigan Milk Producers Association, also serving on many committees. He was a former member of the Board of Directors of Sebewaing Mutual Fire Insurance. Paul was a member of the Hubbard Winsor Lodge No. 420 F & AM, and the Farm Bureau Lucky 50 group. He was a member of the Pigeon Historical Society and the Pigeon Rotary, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow. Paul was a faithful lifetime member of Hayes United Methodist Church, Pigeon, where he sang in the choir, was Sunday School Superintendent, and Administrative Board chairman for many years.
