Funeral Information

Funeral mass will be Monday, January 7, 2013 at 11am in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ruth with Fr. Donald Eppenbrock officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 6-9pm and Sunday from 1-9pm in the Ramsey Funeral Home in Harbor Beach. Visitation will continue in the church from 10am until the time of services at 11am on Monday. A parish vigil service will be Saturday at 7 pm and a K of C Rosary will be on Sunday at 7:30pm, both in the Ramsey Funeral Home. Military honors will be provided by the Parisville VFW Post.

Richard is survived by his children: Mary Hoard of Pinconning, Bob Dallas and his wife Veronica of Harbor Beach, John and his wife Debbie of Bad Axe, Judy Blaine and her husband Dave of Deckerville, Tom Dallas and his wife Karen of Harbor Beach, Nancy Talaski and her husband Jim of Ruth, and Pam Booms and her husband Dale of Harbor Beach. 19 grandchildren: Matthew (Renae) Blaine, Julie Dallas, Lori (Ben) Milosevic, Renee (Brian) Salowitz, Jeffery Hoard, Nichole (Eric) Radomski, Jennifer (Mark) Siemen, Aaron (Danielle) Blaine, Ryan(Jessica) Dallas, Robert Dallas, Kevin (Nichole) Dallas, Kimberly Talaski, Michael (Heather) Blaine, Melissa Dallas, Jamie Talaski, Douglas Booms, Michelle Talaski ,Sarah Dallas,Adam Booms. He was also survived by 12 great grandchildren, one sister Shirley Byrd of Shelby Township, and a sister-in-law Fay Braun. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law Robert Hoard, brother Henry and his wife Almira, brothers- in-law Bernie Braun and Glen Byrd.

Biography

Richard E. Dallas, age 88 of Harbor Beach, passed away Thursday, January 03, 2013 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Port Huron. He was born on August 14, 1924 in Detroit, MI and was the son of the late Henry and Helen (Nowak) Dallas. Dick and Rita Braun were united in marriage on May 25, 1948 in Sts. Peter & Paul Church, Ruth, MI. She preceded him in death Sept. 16, 1989. Dick was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Navy. Richard was the owner of Dallas Standard Service in Ruth from 1957 to 1984. Dick was the Sherman Township Supervisor for 10 Years, and Township Treasurer for 14 years as well as the Assessor. He was on the original Board for the Eastern Huron Ambulance Service of Harbor Beach, helping to organize the service. He was a member of the Parisville VFW Post in Ruth, Knights of Columbus Ruth Council #3823, and a long time member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. Richard enjoyed fishing, golfing, teasing and talking with everyone.
