A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 11 am at St. Hubert Parish-St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rapson. Officiating will be Fr. Rob Howe, pastor. Burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe on Monday from 2-8 pm. or Tuesday at the church from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am. His children: Judy and Nick Romzek of Sandusky, MI., Tom and Jennifer Holdwick of Harbor Beach, Roy Holdwick of Bad Axe, Amy and Jeff Collings of Frankenmuth. Grandchildren: Megan and Matt Schlund of Sebewaing, Geoffery Romzek of Argyle, Katelynn Romzek of Kemanee, IL, Cole Romzek of Sandusky, MI., Payton and Lucas Collings of Frankenmuth. Step-Great-Grandson-Kameron Schlund. Brothers (in laws) and Sisters (in laws): (Theresa Holdwick), Arlene Emming, Ed (Marie) Holdwick, Bill (Audrey) Holdwick, Linda Kirsch, Paul (Maryann) Holdwick, Marjorie (Dave) Androl, Ike (Dorothy) Holdwick, Dennis Holdwick, Barbara (Bob) Ingles, Gene (Mary) Holdwick, Pat (Carl) Roth. Richard was preceded in death by: Infant son-Stephen Michael Holdwick, brothers Harold & Brian Holdwick, Brother-laws Bob Emming & Ken Kirsch.
Richard J. Holdwick, age 82, passed away at his home in Verona Township on Thursday, February 23, 2017. Richard was born On November 2, 1934 in Harbor Beach, son of the late Jerome and Stella (Mausolf) Holdwick. He married Rosalia (Terbrack) on August 29, 1964 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. He served overseas in the U.S. Army 1957-1959, receiving the Good Conduct Medal-Marksman (Rifle)-Marksman (Carbine). He was known for his meticulous work as a master woodworker and enjoyed his portable sawmill.
