He is survived by his wife Virginia; children Jerry of Kingsport, TN, Georgia Sabrowsky of Dothan, AL, Gina (Daniel) Prickel of Cincinnati, OH, Jana (Douglas) Freeman of Pigeon and Dana (Robert) Corvino of Orchard Park, NY; 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister Ann Todd of Fairview and brother Charles (Ruth) Baker of New Mexico; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers George and Clyde and a sister Betty Bigelow.

Biography

Robert Lyle Baker, 95, of Caseville, died Sunday, January 25, 2015 at McLaren Bay Region Hospital in Bay City. Bob was born December 7, 1919 in Rose Township (Oakland County) to the late Charles and Eva (Trimmer) Baker. He graduated from Fenton High School in 1937. He served as a staff sergeant in the US Army during World War II in the Pacific theater. On December 24, 1940 he married Evelyn Kincaid, she preceded him in death on January 12, 1979. On September 21, 1986 he married D. Virginia Beauchamp LeBlanc at St. John Episcopal Church on Sand Point. He moved from Fenton to Caseville in 1969. He worked at Sleeper State Park as a park ranger from 1969 until retiring in 1986. He also spent many years farming. He was a deacon in the Episcopal Church on Sand Point and an active member of that faith community. He was a member of the Caseville American Legion. He enjoyed working in his yard, watching and feeding birds, and building.
