Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life Service will be held on June 9th at Robert’s homestead in Bad Axe, MI. Burial will be held at a later date. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Marlette Hospice House and Courtney Manor in Bad Axe, for their loving care and support for Robert.

Robert is survived by his wife Susan, Paul Krug of Sebring, FL, Dennis Krug of Bad Axe, MI, Mrs. Anthony (Brenda) Berti of Troy, MI Jeff Krug of Munger, MI, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, his sister Bette Leppek, of Grand Rapids, MI, and brother Richard Krug, from Ubly, MI; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Robert was a loving father, husband, grandfather and a friend to all.

Biography

Robert C. Krug 89, of Ubly, Michigan passed away, on Sunday March 26, 2017 at Marlette Hospice House. Robert was born January 4, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan son of Stanley and Martha Krug. He was married to Lillian Grifka June 13, 1953. Lillian mother of their 4 children passed away April 4, 1989. Robert served in the Korean War; he was member of American Legion Post 96 and served on the Drum & Bugle Corp, he retired from Michigan Bell Telephone Company after 35years in 1986, and he was a member of the Bad Axe Fire Dept. Robert’s favorite past time was making birthday and anniversary calls every day to his family and friends throughout the country and Canada. Every morning Robert would open up his address books “which he had a few of them” and usually before the crack of dawn he would start making his calls and sometimes he would even sing a verse or two. When you talked to people who received his calls they would say things like: it’s 6:30am that’s Robert calling me on my birthday or it was always joy to have Robert calling us on our anniversary.
