The funeral service will be Saturday, February 27, 2021, at New Salem Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Due to Covid-19 rules masks must be worn. Royce is survived by his wife, Sheila; children: Eric (Kim) Hornbacher, Joshua (Barbett) Hornbacher and Denise (Tom) Bambach; grandchildren: Zachary “Z-Manâ€, Lindsay “Peanutâ€, Jordan “Rockâ€, Kaylee “Booper†and Christian “Hawkâ€; brother, Dave Hornbacher, Rudy (Tona) Hornbacher, Ruby (Paul) Martinez and Jan Hornbacher; his in-laws and many nieces and nephews. Royce is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Clara Hornbacher; brother, Bruce Hornbacher, twin sister, Rhoda Bolzman, and daughter-in-law, Mary Hornbacher.
Royce W. Hornbacher, age 73, of Sebewaing, was welcomed with open arms by his Lord And Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at his home. Royce was born in Kilmanagh on March 25, 1947, to Claude and Clara (Roemer) Hornbacher. After graduating from high school, Royce joined the United States Army from 1965-1969. He married is sweetheart, Sheila S. Pobanz on April 30, 1966 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh. After the military, he took a few skilled trades classes and worked for Sebewaing Tool and Engineering Co. and retired on May 31st, 2013. Royce was very active and served on many committees at New Salem Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. He enjoyed walleye fishing, woodworking, listening to Neil Diamond and Twila Paris, watching Judge Judy, old western movies, reading his Bible, spending time with family and friends, enjoyed being outside watching wildlife and would do anything for anyone.
