Shirley is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Delbert “Cleve†Cleveland of Troy, Michigan; her children: Eric Eicher and his wife, Judi of Walled Lake, Kelly Zuby and her husband, Paul, of Farmington, and Faye Cleveland of Troy. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: David and Hannah Stivelman and Tom and Chris Zuby. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carole Cleveland.
She was born on April 10, 1931 in Bad Axe, Michigan to the late Herbert J. and Edna J. (Lackie) Smith. Shirley attended Bad Axe High School and graduated from Ward-Bellmont Finishing School in Nashville, Tennessee. She was a former member and choir member at the First United Methodist Church in Bad Axe. Shirley loved to sing in the choir and at weddings. She was an avid golfer, being one of the founding members of the Bird Creek Golf Club in Port Austin, Michigan and was on the Women’s Golf League for 40 years in Birmingham. She married Delbert Truman “Cleve†Cleveland on New Year’s Eve in 1955 at the Bad Axe First United Methodist Church.
