Funeral Information

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday November 26, 2014 at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Annunciation of the Lord, Dwight Township. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. There will be visitation on Tuesday from 2-8pm and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 am at the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde.

Family of the Deceased

He is survived by his son, Dennis (Pam) Peyok of Gainsville, Virginia; his daughter, Laurie Peyok of Royal Oak, a granddaughter, Lyn (Chad Barron) Peyok, Denver Colorado and one sister, Angeline (John) Stec of Warren, Michigan. Also surviving are his brothers-in-law Jay Hanson, Orange Park, Florida, Jim Kolar, Warren, and his sister-n-law Irene Krozek of Filion. He is also survived by his beloved and constant companion his dog, Bo. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Michael (Mary) Pijaszek, Joe (Frances) Peyok Jr., Herman (Irene) Peyok, Edward (Grace) Peyok, Floyd (Margaret) Peyok, Erven (Lorretto) Peyok, Dorothy (Frank) Glaze, Cecelia (Norman) Johnston, Genevieve (Edward) Pier, Loretta (Earl) Dobson, Elizabeth Peyok, David Peyok, and grandparents, Frank and Rose Koroleski and Valentine and Rose Peyok.

Biography

Sylvester Peyok, 91 of Kinde, died Saturday, November 22, 2014. He was born October 11, 1923 in Lincoln Township, son of the late Joseph and Agnes (Koroleski) Peyok. He and Anna Krozek were married on November 7, 1959 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rapson, Mi. She preceded him in death on July 23, 2001. Sylvester was a lifelong Lincoln Township farmer and he was a railroad conductor for almost 30 years. He worked for the New York Central and Penn Central Railroad lines, as well as Conrail and Amtrak. He enjoyed traveling with his family. He visited 49 states, ten Canadian provinces and parts of Mexico. His most recent trips were to Santa Barbara, California in 2010 and Washington DC in 2013. He loved fishing on his boat with his family in the Grindstone area. He enjoyed reading, watching birds and the outdoors in general.
