A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Saturday, July 22nd at St. Roch Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Pare presiding followed by military honors. Urn interment will be in St. Felix Cemetery, Pinnebog. Visitation will be 2-8 Friday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville with a memorial starting at 7pm. Thomas will be greatly missed and remembered by his loving children, Susan (Ronald Carpenter) Reimann of Ann Arbor, Dennis (Mary) Homrich of Kinde, Robert (Michelle Greer) Homrich of Dundee, Carolyn (Douglas Ignash) Homrich of Port Austin, Sheila Homrich of Pinnebog and Carin (Marc) Montei of Deford; grandchildren Erin Reimann, Alison (Ross) Bacon, Caitlin (Matthew) Homrich-Knieling, Jacob Homrich, Ethan Montei, Hannah Homrich, Adam Homrich and Lydia Montei; sisters-in-law Jane Giordano, Mary Boyd, Carol Homrich, Dee Werstine, Mary Werstine (MA) and Mary Werstine (MI); and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 54 years Joan W. Homrich, his son Jeffery D. Homrich, brothers Del and Ray, sister Rita, and brothers-in-law Bert, Bill, John, Bob, Richard and Ernie.
Thomas J. Homrich, 85, of Port Austin, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Thomas was born October 2, 1931 in Muskegon to the late Isadore and Louise Homrich. He began his successful career as a builder after his military service. His craftsmanship will live on in the many homes and projects he built and designed in Detroit, Huron County, and even Saudi Arabia. Thomas was an avid woodworker and handcrafted many one-of-a-kind birdhouses and driftwood creations. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and bravely served his country in the Korean War.
