Memorial service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 in Our Lady Consolata Parish, St. Agatha Catholic Church, Gagetown with Rev. Craig Carolan of Annunciation of the Lord Parish, St. Michael Catholic Church, Port Austin, officiating. Interment will be in St. Agatha Cemetery, Gagetown. Pallbearers for Mr. Reehl are his grandsons: Carter Smeader, Colby Smeader and William Reehl. Memorials may be made to Owen-Gage Lions Club or Thumb Animal Shelter. Tom is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pauline; daughter, Kendra Reehl-Smeader and her fiance' Mathew Gehrcke of Shields; sons: Troy (Stacy) Reehl of Grand Rapids, Norbert (Elizabeth) Reehl of Cass City, Brent (Marney) Reehl of Cass City. Tom and Pauline were blessed with eight beautiful grandchildren: Kennedy, Carter, Colby, William, Bria, Tana, Kaitlyn, and Kendyl. Tom is also survived by his brother, James (Marlyn) Reehl of Kingston; sister, Barbara Sheibels of Allegan; brothers-in-law: Robert (Nancy) Wolschlager of Bad Axe, Bernie (Carol) Wolschlager of Bad Axe; sisters-in-law: Phyllis Reehl of New Port Richey, FL; Monica Wolschlager of Bad Axe, Linda Wolschlager of Elkton; many nieces, nephews and good friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Dee Reehl in 2001; father and mother-in-law, Thomas and Lois Wolschlager; brother-in-law, Thomas J. Wolschlager. He will also be missed by his dog, Bronner and cat, Dottie who got to visit him on Saturday February 7 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility where he was undergoing rehab.

Biography

Thomas A. Reehl, 71, of Gagetown, went to be with Our Lord Sunday, February 15, 2015 in McLaren Bay Region Hospital, Bay City after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born July 23, 1943 in Hubbard Hospital, Bad Axe the third of four children born to William Frederick and Millie Opal (Bynum) Reehl. He married Pauline Anne Wolschlager January 27, 1968 in St. Columbkille Catholic Church at Sheridan Corners Ubly, MI. Tom and Pauline have lived in Gagetown for 45 years. Tom graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1961. During his youth, Tom worked with his parents at Bill's Roadside Market in Bad Axe, which they owned. Tom worked as a die setter for Evan's Products Gagetown for 29 years until the factory closed in 1991. He continued to represent many of his fellow worker's as a committee man for their union after the factory closed. In 1991 he was hired by Oetiker's of Marlette as tool and crib man where he worked for 15 years until his retirement in 2006. During the time of working for Evan's and Oetiker's Tom never missed a day of work. He passed his work ethic on to his four children. Tom was an elected member of the Gagetown Village Council for over 40 years beginning in 1974 until the present. Tom was a member of Our Lady Consolata Parish, St. Agatha Catholic Church, Gagetown for 45 years. He was also a member of the parish Men's Club. Tom was a member of the Cass City Gagetown Knights of Columbus Council #8892. He was also a member of the Owen-Gage Band Boosters working with their BINGO games that helped many Owen-Gage students during the 80's and 90's. Tom was an avid BINGO player in Caro and Bay City. He also enjoyed playing Euchre and Texas Hold Em.
