Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, October 30, at St Columbkille Catholic Church, Sheridan Twp. With Rev. Fr. Charlie Hammond officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 9 PM Tuesday, 2 to 9 PM Wednesday and after 10 AM Thursday. Surviving are her husband, Troy; two sons, Scott (Crystal Kula) Langley of Elkton and Michael (Krystal) Smith of Bad Axe; four grandchildren, McKenzie, Zoey, Braadyn and Keara; her parents, Dennis and Grace Goniwicha of Owendale; siblings, Sheila Errer of Owendale, Derek Goniwicha of Ruth and Dana (Ronnie) Irion of Owendale; her mother-in-law, Gloria Kretzschemer of Caseville; brothers-in-law, Todd (Linda) Smith of Bay City, Terry (Colleen) Smith of Caseville and Jeff Smith of Caseville and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her father-in-law, Leroy Kretzschemer.
Tina M Smith, age 49, of Owendale passed away Sunday, October 26, surrounded by her family, at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit following a three year battle with lung cancer. She was born September 28, 1965 in Ann Arbor to Dennis and Grace (Denton) Goniwicha and moved to Huron County with her family, from Brighton in 1977. Tina graduated from Laker High School in 1983. She worked as a bank teller for more than 14 years. She was currently a loan reviewer with Signature Bank, on leave since May for health reasons. On August 20, 1999, she was united in marriage to Troy Smith in Bad Axe and made their home in Owendale. Tina had been a member of St Francis Catholic Church, Pigeon and was currently attending St. Columbkille Catholic Church, Sheridan Twp. She was the current Owendale Village Treasurer, a position she has held for many years. Tina was a home body and enjoyed being with grandchildren and family.
