Funeral Information

Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 11:00 at the Sacred Heart/ St. Hubert’s parish in Bad Axe. Fr. T.J. and Fr. Rob Howe will be officiating, with burial in the Sacred Heart church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe from 2-8 PM, with a scripture service at 7:00 pm; and from 10:00 until the time of service on Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made in memory of Troy to the family discretionary fund or the Eve Grigg Memorial Scholarship fund. Condolences may be shared at www.macalpinefuneralhome.com

Troy’s memory will live on through his wife Donna (Herndon) Grigg, and his daughters; Jordan (Fiance` Cody Booms, and Nicole (significant other Brady Renn).Troy is also survived by his siblings; Rod Grigg (significant other Laura Welch), Shari (Grigg) Thakady and her spouse Anil Thakady, his in-laws Jake and Linda (Gingrich) Herndon; sister in law Denice (Herndon) Palmer, nieces and nephews; Kara Grigg (Godchild) (Fiance` Gabe Negranza), Kyle Grigg, Treyton Grigg, Spencer Thakady, Benjamin Thakady, Addison Thakady (Godchild) and Cody Palmer. He will also be missed by his dog Finn, and grandpuppy Maci. Troy was preceded in death by his mother Eve Grigg, his grandparents; Joseph and Blanche Klee, Robert Grigg Sr. and Gratta; and several aunts, uncle and cousins. The family wishes to thank Pat and Craig Rambo for the last few days of his care.

Biography

Troy Allen Grigg, 53 of Filion, passed away peacefully on Monday January 24th at his home surrounded by his family. Troy was born on December 14, 1968 to Robert Clark Grigg and the late Eve Elizabeth (Klee) Grigg in Bad Axe,Michigan. Troy was a member of the Ubly Heights Country Club, and the founder and organizer of the annual Grigg Open, for 22 years, which donated funds back to the Eve Grigg Memorial Scholarship. He enjoyed rabbit hunting with his dog Finn, deer hunting and walleye fishing, and attending the annual Wild Game dinner that was hosted by Ubly Fox Hunters. He was also a member of Sacred Heart/St. Hubert’s Catholic Church. Troy enjoyed spending time with friends and family at the Buck Horn, Weber’s deer camp, and the Ubly Heights golf course. He was always proud of the things that his girls were able to accomplish, and he loved watching them succeed.
