Funeral Information

Mass of Christian burial will be 11 am Wednesday, August 26th at St. Columbkille Catholic Church with Rev. Charlie Hammond officiating. Visitation will be 3 to 8 pm on Tuesday, August 25th at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe with rosary at 7 pm and from 10 am until time of service on Wednesday, August 26th at the church. Virginia is survived by her husband, Harvey of 58 years; sons: David (Julie) Lubeski of Owendale, Douglas (Linda) Lubeski of Bad Axe, Darren (Kerrie) Lubeski of Ubly and Daniel (Christina) Lubeski of Ubly; daughter Debra (George) McNiven of Carsonville; grandchildren: Brian, Alicia, Angela, Laura, Jeffery, Marc, Alex, Leah, Matthew and Megan; great grandchildren: Derek, Emily, Alivia, Bella, Cody, Rhiana and Brady; siblings Frances Wlash, JoAnne (Tom) Butch, Michael (Joan) Prill, Edna Miller, Joseph (Mary) Prill, Theresa (Richard) Schmidt and Mari (Patrick) Siemen; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson William; siblings Alex (Florence) Prill, John J. Prill, Edward Prill, Marlene Yokom, Karen Nichols and brother in law Michael Walsh.

Biography

Virginia Mae Lubeski, 79, of Sheridan Township passed away on August 22, 2015 at the University of Michigan Hospital. Virginia was born in Hume Township on July 12, 1936 to the late Alex and Regina (Vigenski) Prill. She married Harvey Lubeski on June 22, 1957 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dwight Township. Virginia was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Ubly. She enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardens, canning, feeding and watching the birds, listening to Polka music and spending time with her family.
