Funeral Information

Services for William Eick will be Monday, August 15, 2022 at 1 pm at Zion Lutheran Church, with Rev. Matthew Durance, officiating. Burial will follow in Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Hadley on Tuesday. Visitation for Bill will be on Sunday, from 2-8pm at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Monday will be at the church, beginning at 12 pm until time of services at 1 pm. A scripture service will take place Sunday, at 7 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Zion Lutheran Church or School, Lutheran Hour Ministries or the Harbor Beach Hospital Foundation. Memories can be shared at www.RamseyFH.com

Biography

William R. Eick, age 91 of Harbor Beach, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at his home, under hospice care. He was born on August 29, 1930 in Lapeer to the late Walter & Lela (Ronald) Eick. Bill was baptized on September 21, 1930 and confirmed on June 13, 1943 at Christ Lutheran Church in Goodrich. He and Shirley Swinehart were united in marriage on June 19, 1954 in Hadley, she preceded him in death on November 16, 1997. Bill worked at Harbor Beach High School from 1953-1999. He assisted with the FFA program for 7 years, and 39 years as the Guidance Counselor. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he was a past Chairperson, Trustee, Elder, Usher, sat on the Board of Education, a member of the Lutheran Layman League and helped with the Lutheran Hour Ministries. He was one of the Founders of the Harbor Beach Hospital Foundation, was a member of the Jaycees, and was part of the Chain Gang for Home Football Games.
