Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 24, 2015 at 2 pm from Champagne Funeral Home in Elkton, Michigan. Friends may call at the funeral home from10 am until time of service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Standish Chapel.

Family of the Deceased

Bill is survived by his children Gary Hurren, Sandi (Mike) Radomski, Kathy Basinger, Debra (John) Murdick, Janet Lubeski, Paul (Caroline) Hurren, Tina (Jim) Leppek, and Charles (Dawn) Hurren and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Shirley Newton and a brother Ronald Hurren. Bill was predeceased by a son William Ralph and daughters Jean Catherine Hurren and Bonnie Lee Terwilliger, and grandsons William Lubeski and Gerald Terwilliger, brothers and sisters Kenneth, Russell, Reginald, and Dick Hurren, sisters Dortheia Detgen and Lucille Breathour, June Guitar, and Anna Mae Catanzero.

Biography

William James Hurren 91, passed away Monday, August 17, 2015 at his daughters Janet house under hospice care with his family at his side. He was born January 13, 1924 in Harbor beach the son of the late Clarence & Naomi (Essenmacher) Hurren. Bill and Helen Landenburg were united in marriage April 27, 1946 in Harbor Beach. She predeceased him in death November 3, 2013. Bill proudly served in the WWII where he was awarded with a silver star while serving in Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia from 1944 to 1946 as a military policeman investigating underground activities. Bill love doing woodworking from home and selling his products at flea markets he also lost some fingers from the saw he used but he continued on doing his crafting. While raising his family he was a carpenter, builder for Dukes Roofing and Bill Sprague Roofing and siding of Elkton. He served as post commander of the VFW Post 9344 in Harbor Beach, Michigan.
