ELECTION ON TUESDAY IN HURON COUNTY

TUESDAY, MAY 7TH IS ONE OF THE DATES FOR ELECTIONS IN MICHIGAN AND IN THE UPPER THUMB, HURON COUNTY IS ALONE IN HAVING A FEW QUESTIONS TO BE DECIDED. NORTH HURON SCHOOLS ARE SEEKING A RENEWAL OF 18.2346 MILLS AND AN INCREASE OF A HALF A MILL FOR 11 YEARS. THE REQUEST IS IN ONE BALLOT QUESTION BEFORE DISTRICT VOTERS.   ELSEWHERE THE KIPPER SCHOOL IS SEEKING THE STANDARD 18 MILLS FOR NON HOMESTEAD - NON QUALIFIED PROPERTY FOR 11 YEARS. THE OTHER ELECTION IS IN GRANT TOWNSHIP WHERE THEY ARE SEEKING FOUR MILLS FOR 3 YEARS FOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE AND DUST CONTROL. ITS A QUESTION THAT WAS TURNED DOWN BY VOTERS LAST NOVEMBER.
      BOTH SANILAC AND TUSCOLA COUNTY HAVE NO ELECTIONS ON TUESDAY. ELSEWHERE, LAPEER COUNTY HAS ELECTIONS SCHEDULED IN DRYDEN TOWNSHIP AND IMLAY CITY, BAY COUNTY HAS ONE ELECTION IN THE ESSEXVILLE-HAMPTON SCHOOL DISTRICT, AND ST CLAIR COUNTY'S ONLY ELECTION IS IN THE RICHMOND SCHOOLS.
