Former Detroit Edison Plant brought down Tuesday morning - video

    The former Detroit Edison Harbor beach power plant was imploded Tuesday morning to help clear the land for future development. The explosive charges went off at 9am, after the harbor was cleared of boat traffic. The first blast was suppose to take down both the remaining structure and the smokestack, but just the building came down on the first attempt. Officials said the charges in the smokestack went off, but it didn't fall. About a half an hour later they tried again and the smokestack came down as well.   A demolition crew came to Harbor beach to perform the work safely.
