Bad Axe 11 year old soccer player will be in Nike commercial - video and audio

America's favorite pass-time is baseball, and we love our football....but what about the other futball? Soccer is the number one sport around the world, but here in the U.S. it takes a back seat to baseball, football, basketball, and even hockey. Soccer is gaining popularity in the U.S., and it's all about the kids... They are the reason soccer is gaining popularity...by watching and playing it more and more. Such is the case of 6th grader Landen Galarno. Landen is 11 years old, and a student at Big Burning School.

Landen continues to play more than one sport, but soccer is his passion. He plays in the Bad Axe Youth Soccer Leagues, and Huron County United, the u12 travel team that plays other teams from around the state. Last year he participated in a shoot out competition where he won the district title, regional title...and moved on to outscore everyone in the 83 counties in the state to become the State Champion in the U12 division. Landen loves the game, so much so, that in the off season his parents take him to the Detroit Area to practice with some squads down there. While playing with the Detroit squads he was offered a unique opportunity....

That second audition turned into a whole lot more. Landen and his parents, by contract couldn't tell us much, but they could tell us that we might find a suprise coming up this summer...

If you tune into that Women's World Cup, or go to the Nike website later this spring and summer, you will see Landen showing off his talents in a Nike commercial. But it's not all about the game. Landen is also an honor roll student at Big Burning School, and knows that without support, he couldn't do any of it...so he wanted to make sure to thank his parents, but also a special thank you to Mrs. Daniels....his teacher at Big Burning Schools.
