Funeral Information

Funeral Mass for Leona will be Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 11 am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, of the Holy Name of Mary Parish, with Fr. Kevin Wojciechowski officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation for Leona will be on Saturday, in the church, beginning at 9 am until time of services at 11 am. Arrangements are being handled by the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Donations can be given to the Family Discretionary Fund. Memories can be shared at www.RamseyFH.com

She is survived by her children: Dorothy Holdwick of Harbor Beach, John (Debbie) Rotarius of Fairhaven, Jim (Kim) Rotarius of Apopka, FL, Joe (Donna Lynn) Rotarius of Apopka, FL, Irma (Nick) Thomas of Dryden, several foster children, 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 18 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews Leona was preceded in death by her parents: Alfonse and Irma, husband John Rotarius, grandson: Andrew Sabbe, son-in-law Ike Holdwick, sister Alice Weigand, and brothers: Amil, Pete and Jim LaGrou

Biography

Leona found peace in heaven’s garden. Leona R. Rotarius, age 92 of Harbor Beach, passed away August 21, 2026, in Apopka, Florida. She was born on October 3, 1933 in Warren, daughter of Alphonse and Irma (Duyck) LaGrou. Leona and John Rotarius were united in marriage on August 12, 1950 in Warren. John preceded her in death on April 8, 2012. Leona Farmed in Warren and Fairhaven with John, and drove semi-truck, hauling livestock for many years. She was a co-owner of Jim and Leona’s Restaurant and Catering, and eventually retired to their home in Harbor Beach. Leona enjoyed being with her family, gardening, and playing bingo.
