Brown City will have a millage request on the August ballot.

The council approved asking for a renewal of the millage that funds the park.

The millage for the park expires at the end of this year so the millage for the park will need to be renewed on this year's ballot.

The ballot proposal will ask voters to support the request to levy 1.25 mills for 20 years.

In other matters, the issue over water usage between the city and the fire hall has been resolved.

The ambulance will cover 40 percent of the cost of water usage and in kind services that the fire department participates in should offset the remainder of the cost.

Also during the meeting, police Officer Luke Childs was recognized for going above and beyond.

The honor was given because on Jan. 28, Childs administered aid to a resident without hesitation.

His dedication and professionalism are greatly appreciated, noted his honor.
