Gregory Scott Burton Given Thirty Day Extension To Secure Legal Representation

In a status hearing today, in Huron County Circuit Court, with Judge Prill presiding over Gregory Scott Burton's case file. Gregory Scott Burton was granted an additional thirty days to secure legal representation.

Prosecuting attorney Timothy J. Rutkowski noted the court had previously been informed Burton was close to hiring an attorney. Burton stated he needed more time due to unforeseen circumstances.

The defense indicated an out of town firm is being considered. The court ruled that if counsel is not retained within the thirty day period, the matter will be referred for potential court-assigned counsel.

Bond will continue, with a notice set for May 4th at 10 AM.
