John Horace Rice's Case Adjourned For Application To Regional Sobriety Recovery Court

Huron County - In Judge Prill's circuit courtroom a pretrial hearing for John Horace Rice addressed his potential entry into a regional sobriety recovery court.

Defense attorney James F. Gust confirmed Rice does not need to reside in Huron or Tuscola County for the program, but must attend meetings in Caro. Gust plans to file the necessary application forms.

The court granted an adjournment of up to 45 days to facilitate the application process, with a new date set for May 18th at 10 AM. Screening for the program is estimated to take at least one month, involving multiple interviews and team review. The court will also consult with Judge Gerhart, who coordinates the TRSC program, to ensure procedural alignment.
