79 Yr Old Fort Gratiot Man Dies In Single Vehicle Crash

A 79 year old man from Fort Gratiot has died following a single-vehicle crash in Tuscola County.

Authorities say the incident happened Sunday afternoon around 3:30 on Frankenmuth Road near Lorenzo Road, just west of Vassar. According to the Michigan State Police, the man was driving a pickup truck when it struck a traffic island at a rural intersection.

He was the only person in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
