OwenGage School District Announced Top 2026 Students

During the last meeting of the Owendale-Gagetown School District's board of education meeting, the top students were announced and two closed sessions were conducted.

The board recognized McKenzie Baker as Valedictorian and Aubrey Hellebuyck as Salutatorian for the class of 2026.

From 7:36 to 8:08 p.m., the board was in closed session regarding disciplining a student.

The board went into a second closed session from 8:16 to 8:42 to discuss Superintendent Nicholas Huston's contract.

There was no information forthcoming from either closed session.

During the previous board of education meeting, the board did an evaluation of Huston's performance

The board ranked his performance as "effective," which is the highest ranking.

The next step is working out an employment contract for Huston.
