Funeral services are Noon Thursday, April 26th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Elkton with Rev. Karen Bouverette officiating. Burial will be in the Caseville Twp. Cemetery. Visitation will begin 11:00 a.m Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society of Hospice House of Mid-Michigan-Sparrow Health System. Alice is survived by: two sons, Wallace (Marion) Hart of Williamston, MI and Kevin Hart of Battle Creek, MI; a daughter, Ginny (Tom) Kowalski of Scotts, MI; six grandchildren: Alex (Holly) Kowalski of Sherwood, WI, Brian Kowalski of Bowling Green, OH, Curt Kowalski of Chicago, IL, Erin (Chris) Emmons of Orlando, FL, Kelsi (Jason) Sawdy of Potterville, MI and Sean Hart of Sterling Heights, MI; five great-grandchildren: Annika and Isaac Kowalski, Taylor, Kennedy and Madysen Sawdy; sister-in-law Betty Farver of Caseville and special friends: Rob and Natalia Conte of Okemos, MI. Alice was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard, Wallace, William and Lyle Farver.

Biography

Alice Marie (Farver) Hart, 89, of Okemos, formerly of Caseville, died Thursday, April 19, 2018 in Lansing. Alice was born on January 16, 1929 in Lapeer, daughter of the late Thomas and Ethel (Hazard) Farver. On January 21, 1950 Alice was united in marriage to Wallace A. Hart in Bad Axe. Wallace preceded her in death on March 24, 1990. Alice moved to Caseville at the age of one. She went to school in Caseville and graduated from Pigeon High School in 1946. After graduation, Alice went to work at the bank in Caseville. Alice and Wallace owned the Bay Theatre and Bay Window Restaurant until the businesses were sold in 1975. After 30 years in banking, Alice retired in 1992 and moved to Okemos to be near her family. Alice was a member of the Caseville United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Caseville Eagles Auxiliary and was a previous member of the Caseville Kiwanis club. She enjoyed golf, reading, University of Michigan sports and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
