Funeral Information

Funeral mass will be conducted Thursday, February 23 at 11:30 am at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, of the Holy Name of Mary Parish. Visitation for Bette will be on Wednesday, from 2-8 pm at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Thursday will be at the church beginning at 10 am until time of services at 11:30 am. A parish vigil service will take place Wednesday at 7 pm at the funeral home. Donations made in Bette’s name will be used toward local projects, families and organizations, as designated by the family. Memories can be shared at www.RamseyFH.com

Family of the Deceased

She is survived by her three children; son Jack and his wife Mary Ellen (Johnson) Hessling of Kawkawklin, son Gerald and his wife Debra (Legault) Hessling of Harbor Beach and daughter Cindy and her husband Scott Roggenbuck of Harbor Beach; seven grandchildren: Jennifer and husband Jimmy Hubbard, Jason and wife Indira (Gujral) Hessling, Randal and wife Theresa (Meissner) Hessling, Kyle Hessling, Janel and husband Russell Lemanski, Aaron and wife Nicole (King) Roggenbuck, Ashley and husband Lee Dickson; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Sophie Ringwalski.

Biography

Bette Hessling, age 86 of Harbor Beach, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 19, 2017, at Courtney Manor. She was born May 13, 1930 in Parisville, MI to the late Clara (Susalla) Ringwalski and Anthony Ringwalski. Bette and John Hessling were united in marriage on October 30, 1948 in Parisville. John preceded her in death on April 15, 1996. Bette and John enjoyed traveling and later in life, enjoyed many winters in the Florida sunshine. She was dedicated to her job, serving the Harbor Beach Medical Clinic for many years. Everyone who knew Bette, knew she was an avid card shark; she spent countless hours with her grandchildren at her kitchen table, teaching and playing card games. Her calendar was filled with card parties with friends. Professional basketball was another one of her passions, as well as watching her grandchildren play ball locally. She was proud of her sons and daughter, and always had a story to tell about her grandchildren’s latest adventures.
