Funeral service for Betty will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018 at the MacAlpine Gage Chapel in Kinde with Chaplin Joe Atchinson officiating. Burial will take place at Colfax Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the MacAlpine Gage Chapel in Kinde. There will also be visitation on Monday, April 23, 2018 10 a.m. until time of service. Memorials may be offered to Kinde Presbyterian Church, McLaren Bay Hospice or Eden Fields Assisted Living. Betty is survived by her daughter, Carol Kilgus and her husband, Gary of Alger; her grandchildren: Reid (Mary Ellen) Kilgus of Pinconning, Troy Kilgus (Ben Schippers) of Midland and Quinn (Maegan) Kilgus of Kalamazoo; two great grandchildren: Hayden and Paisley Kilgus; special cousin, Sharon Ahearn; her brother, Harold (Judy) Dondineau; half-sisters: Flora and Cynthia; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth (Clem) Przymetski; her brothers, Herb (Eva) Hubbard and Art Dondineau; her sister-in-law, Virginia (Frank) Tetreau; her parents William and Caroline McPhee Dondineau and her in-laws, Roy A. and Amanda Chambers.

Biography

Betty M. Chambers, 90, of Filion, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2018, at Eden Fields Assisted Living in Standish, Michigan under hospice care. Betty was born in Bad Axe on March 11, 1928. Her parents were the late William and Carrie (McPhee) Dondineau. On June 9, 1951, she married Roy Chambers Jr. at the Kinde Presbyterian Church. He preceded her in death on July 1, 2010. Betty was a member of the Kinde Presbyterian Church. She was a Sunday school teacher and a 4-H Leader, teaching children how to sew, bake and garden. Betty enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending all their sporting events.
