He was born November 21, 1917 at home in Bay Port, the second of eleven children of Alfred and Lydia (Staehli) Schember. He married Kate Molosky September 7, 1975 in Imlay City. She died July 16, 2012. Clarence is survived by his children: Lyle Schember of Grand Rapids, Paul (Kaylene) Schember of Nicholasville, KY; daughter-in-law, Marcia Schember of Cass City; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandsons; step-sons: Mike Molosky of Lapeer, Harry (Lelah) Molosky of Lapeer; step-daughter, Carolyn Rice of Lapeer; 9 step-grandchildren; several step-great grandchildren; brothers: Earl (Doris) Schember of Gagetown, Jerry (Jane) Schember of Goodells, Ed Schember of Elkton, Wayne Schember of Pigeon; sister, Elene McCrachen of Bad Axe; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by sons: Rinerd Schember, David Schember; granddaughter, Renee DeGrandchamp; great grandson, Jason Smith; four brothers; one sister.

Biography

Clarence worked as a dairy and crop farmer for 15 years before taking a job at the Lapeer State Home in Lapeer as an attendant. He worked there for over 20 years until his retirement. Clarence enjoyed being outside working in his garden. He was a sports fanatic watching all kinds of sports on television. Clarence particularly like all the Detroit Teams, the Tigers, the Pistons, and the Lions.
