The memorial service for Dale will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, August 1 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Forestville. Rev. Richard G. Wilson, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Visitation with Dale’s family will be at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the service at 12 noon. Dale is survived by one son, Todd (Marlo) Klaus of Deckerville; two daughters, Mrs. Tonya (Ben) Schott of Cass City, Mrs. Tracey (James) Dore Ubly; 5 grandchildren, Mitchell Dore, Mikayla Dore, Dylan Crase, Lexi Crase, Landyn Schott; two brothers, Earl (Phyllis) Klaus of Deckerville, Ron (Eleanor) Klaus of Palms; one sister, Charlotte Fisher of Flint. Dale was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth.

Biography

Mr. Dale “Dooley” Arthur Klaus, 73 of Deckerville, joined his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 30, 2015. He was born on August 10, 1941 in Bad Axe to the late Raymond and Evelyn (Erdman) Klaus. He married Sue Rich on January 15, 1966 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Forestville. Dale was a 1959 graduate of Deckerville High School. He was a salesman for Rupp Seeds for 20 years. He was employed at McEachin Excavating for 38 years as a bulldozer driver before he retired in 2006. Dale was an avid snowmobiler and was a member of the Thumbs Up Snowmobile Club of Sanilac County. He also did small engine repair on snowmobiles. Dale loved gardening, trips to the casinos and playing cards with his grandchildren. He loved the outdoors, especially the snow and enjoyed his time with family and friends at the Dooley Dome in Higgins Lake.
