Visitation will be Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 3-8pm. The funeral service will be Friday, January 24, 2014 at St. John Lutheran Church-Kilmanagh. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Burial will be at New Bay Port Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the family. She is survived by her husband, Albert Deming; children: Denean (Allen) Lemanski and Deanne (Don) Smith; brother, Ronnel (Lorraine) Deeg; grandchildren: Samantha (Edward) Razo, Quin Smith and Brayden Smith; great grandchildren: Emmitt and Enzo Razo; and several extended family and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Dean Deming, on April 1, 2009.

Biography

Donna Jean Deming, age 76, of Bay Port, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon. Donna was born February 1, 1937 in Bay Port. She is the daughter of the late Herb and Esther (Janke) Deeg. She is a 1955 graduate of Bay Port High School. She married Albert Deming, November 7, 1958 at St. John Lutheran Church-Kilmanagh. She was a member of the Bay Port Women’s Club, Fairhaven Twp. Fireman’s Auxiliary, St. John Lutheran Church Choir, and Fairhaven Twp. Election Board. She was involved in many church activities, enjoyed cross stitching, making baby blankets, and would give the little league a slip for a free milk shake if they got a home run. She organized several class reunions and was an active volunteer for the Bay Port Fish Festival. She loved bowling at the Dutch Kettle and Green Meadows. She is a member of the 500 Club and 600 Club and bowled in many local and state tournaments. She loved spending time with her family and many friends.
