Services will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 11 am. at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe. Burial will be in Colfax Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kaufman Funeral Home on Monday from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am. Memorials may be made to the Gideons. Iola is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Iola was preceded in death by: 1 Brother-Donald C. Wessels. 1 Sister-Eva Wessels.

Biography

Iola V. Devine, age 101, of Bad Axe, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe. Iola was born in Lincoln Township on June 23, 1915, daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Crittenden) Wessels. She married John Devine on July 29, 1939 in Imlay City. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1990. Iola taught school in Detroit before returning to Huron County. She was a member of Farm Bureau.
