Family of the Deceased

She was the beloved mother of four daughters: Annie (Ronald) Kubacki of Ubly, Brenda (Richard) Baranski of Kinde, Debbie (Daniel) Papkey of Pigeon and Peggy (Alan) Licht of Pigeon. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Bradley and Cory Kubacki, Teri, Stephanie, and Jill (Sal) Cucchiara, Christopher (Marcie) and Matthew (fiance’ Erin Steele) Papkey, and Nathan (Jessica), Andrew (Angela), and Jordan Licht; and two great-grandchildren, Abigail Baranski and Jayden Papkey. Irene is predeceased by her granddaughter Kaylee Rae Licht; her parents; four brothers; and five sisters.

Biography

Irene E. Berube, age 80 of Owendale, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015 at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City. She was born in Brookfield Township on December 4, 1934 to Paul and Anna (Priester) Pavlicheck. Irene loved playing the lottery, doing word searches, some knitting, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She trained to be a Nurses Aid at Hills and Dales Hospital in Cass City and worked at Huron Memorial Hospital in Bad Axe for 30 years, before retiring in 1990. Irene was a real people person. She worked at Grant Grocery and later at Ron’s Party Store in Elkton where she loved meeting with the customers.
