Funeral Information

Funeral Services for Karen will be Monday, February 13, 2017 at 11 am at Ramsey Funeral Home, with Rev. David Dodge officiating. Cremation will follow, with internment to be at Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation for Karen will be Monday, at the funeral home, beginning at 9 am until time of services at 11 am. Arrangements are being handled by the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. She is survived by her three brothers: Hugh Harwood, Gary (Barb) Harwood, and Larry (Joyce) Harwood, all of Port Hope, nieces and nephews: Vicky (Larry) Mazza of St. Clair Shores, Steven (Shannon) Harwood of North Carolina, Janet (Jeff) Miller, Tracey Harwood, all of Bad Axe, Nancy (Justin) Vliet of Wyoming, MI, Rick (Heather) Harwood of Clinton Township, Kari Ann (Chris) VerEllen of Harbor Beach, and Randy (Colleen) Harwood of St. Clair; great nieces and nephews: Riley Mazza, Skylar and Spencer Harwood, Kaytlin, Paige and Jayden Harwood, Calista and Nathan Vliet, Andrew Harwood of New York, Miranda Parrish and Brandon Harwood, Nick, Stephanie, Ryan and Eric VerEllen, Danielle (Scott) Matthews and Randy Harwood, Jr.; great great nieces and nephew: Lillian and Konner VerEllen, Aryana and Ella Matthews. Karen was preceded in death by her parents Glen and Jane Harwood, siblings: Neil, Shirley and Gene Harwood, sister-in-law Beatrice Harwood and nephew Gary Neil Harwood.

Biography

KAREN IRENE HARWOOD, age 75 of Bad Axe, formerly of Port Hope, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Courtney Manor Nursing Center of Bad Axe. Karen was born on April 27, 1941 to the late Glen and Jane (Keifer) Harwood. She always had a smile and a hug for everyone she knew. She was kind, sweet and gentle. Karen was also a participant in the Huron County Special Olympics. She loved listening to music, taking walks and she especially loved being with her family.
