The memorial Mass for Margaret will be 11:00 am Friday, July 29 at St. Isidore Parish, St. Mary Church in Parisville. Rev. Todd Arnberg, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation with Margaret’s family will be Friday from 10:00 am until the mass at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been requested to the St. Mary Rosary Sodality or the donor’s charity of choice. Care has been entrusted to the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. Margaret is survived by her son, David Niemic and his wife, Carolyn of Perrysburg, OH; her daughter, Kathleen Boehmer and her husband Jon of Lapeer; 17 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; one sister Florence Mausolf of Parisville; one brother, Leonard Nowicki of Bad Axe; many nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by one brother, Elmer Nowicki and one sister, Beatrice Ulewicz.

Biography

Margaret Irma Niemic, 92 of Ubly, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 at St. Mary’s of Michigan. Margaret was born February 22, 1924 in Detroit to the late Alex and Lucy (Palach) Nowicki. She married Floren Niemic on October 30, 1943. He preceded her in death on December 10, 2006. Margaret was a homemaker. She worked as a “Rosie the Riveter” while her husband, Floren, served in WWII. She was a parishioner at St. Mary Catholic Church in St. Isidore Parish in Parisville where she was am ember of the St. Mary Rosary Sodality. Margaret enjoyed gardening and playing cards, especially pinochle and euchre.
