Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday at the Hayes United Methodist Church with Rev. Matthew Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Caseville Twp Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8pm Thursday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Elkton.

She is survived by her daughter Kay (Greg) Kingsbury of Bad Axe and son Keith (Stephanie) of Caseville; grandchildren Nicholas (Krista) Leipprandt of Pigeon and Barbara (John) Eile of Caseville; step-grandchildren Michele (Jason) Grant of Holly and Dan Kingsbury of Brandon, Florida; great-grandchildren Amelia and Kurtis; step-great-grandchildren Sophia, Jacob, Luke, and Stefano; brother Joseph (Veronica) Rothfuss of Caro; sister-in-law Jackie Rothfuss; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers David and Rev. Walter Rothfuss; and sister Linda Boulton.

Biography

Marie A. Leipprandt, 87, of Pigeon, died Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe. Marie was born March 17, 1931 in Kilmanagh to the late Fred and Clara (Bauman) Rothfuss. She graduated from Pigeon High School in 1949, then graduated from Venard Bible College and Greenville College. She taught school in Dearborn and Pigeon. She married Paul Leipprandt June 17, 1967 at Salem EUB Church in Pigeon; he preceded her in death February 17, 2013. Marie was a faithful longtime member of the Hayes United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and confirmation classes. She was involved in her community in numerous groups, including Huron County Nature Center, Pigeon Area Women’s Club, GFWC-Michigan, Pigeon Historical Society, Pigeon District Library, Huron County Dairy Diplomats and a hospice volunteer. Her hobbies through the years were reading, gardening, canning produce, dairy tours of her farm, and her large cow collection. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and caring for friends and family.
