On April 21, 1962 she was united in marriage with William Clayton Kauffman in Midland, and they have celebrated 54 years of marriage. Maxine dearly loved her grandsons and faithfully attended their school activities and sporting events. She enjoyed reading and cross-stitching; she made the best corned beef casserole and macaroni and cheese. In her early years, Maxine enjoyed gardening, camping, and making homemade ketchup. Maxine suffered with neuropathy since 1976 that limited her activities. She also had multiple bouts with cancer.
