Funeral Information

Funeral Services for Mildred will be Thursday, January 17, 2012 at 1pm at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Richard Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in East Delaware Cemetery. Visitation for Mildred will be on Wednesday from 1-9pm at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Thursday will be at the church beginning at 12 noon until time of services at 1pm. A scripture service will take place Wednesday at 7:30 pm in the funeral home.

She is survived by her son Ralph Behnke and his wife Kathy of Harbor Beach, Grandchildren: Patrick Behnke, Robert (Sandy) Behnke and Daniel Behnke. Great Grandchildren: Megan, Shea, Brady and Kaden, sister Ruth Will, brother-in-law Herman Behnke of Deckerville. Mildred was preceded in death by a granddaughter Renee Behnke, brothers: Gordon, Melvin, George Jr. Westfall, sisters: Evelyn Reiche and Leona Westfall.

Biography

MILDRED I. BEHNKE, age 93 of Harbor Beach, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 at Huron County Medical Care Facility of Bad Axe, under hospice care. She was born on June 10, 1919 in Detroit, to the late George and Elsie (Heimberger) Westfall. Mildred attended Cooly High School in Detroit. Mildred and Harold Benhke were united in marriage on November 21, 1944 in Detroit. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1978. Mildred worked at the A&P Food Store in Detroit for 6 years. Mildred was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Harbor Beach. She enjoyed raising her family, crocheting, sewing, quilting, playing cards, gardening and flowers.
