Ronald Joseph Mausolf, 69, passed away on January 15, 2022 after a valiant fight with complications before and after a heart transplant. Ronald was born November 13, 1952 to the late Orville and Marie Mausolf. Ronald (Ron) graduated from Harbor Beach High School in 1971. He worked various jobs out of high school perfecting his skills, until starting his own business, Thumb Cooling, in 1979. Ron married the love of his life Kathleen (Kathy) on August 6, 1977. They raised three children together, both of them being an incredible example of hard work, dedication, and love of family and Jesus. Being from a big family, Ron enjoyed gathering for any event, especially with his children and grandchildren, but also with friends. Ron was the highlight of any gathering. His laugh was infectious, his stories were legendary, and his hospitality (making sure everyone was adequately hydrated) was unparalleled. Ron’s love for cars started at a young age and continued through his adulthood. Ron and Kathy enjoyed gardening and canning together, and sharing the fruits of their labor with others. Ron loved to make big breakfasts for anyone staying over and you were not going to make it out of the driveway without trying his salsa or pickles, or tasting what was in season. Ron loved golfing and always made time for a round or two with family and friends. After retirement, Ron continued learning and perfecting new skills. He made sophisticated wooden toys for his grandchildren and his last project was designing and building a gazebo.
