Verneita “Neita” Braun, 89, 0f Bad Axe, formerly of Elkton, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Courtney Manor, Bad Axe, after a short illness. Neita was born November 27, 1926 in Hume Township. She was the daughter of the late Edward L. and Anna M. (Cox) Taylor, granddaughter of the late Buron and Alta (Schad) Cox, Colf and William and Emaline (Hagle) Taylor. On March 16, 1946, Neita was united in marriage to Albert “Bert” Braun Jr. at the Chandler Presbyterian Church by the Reverend Marshall W. Simpson. Bert preceded her in death on January 2, 2001. Neita lived and farmed with her husband Bert of fifty-four years on the same farm Bert’s father and grandfather had farmed before them. In Chandler Township, which became a Centennial Farm in 1970. Neita worked alongside her husband milking cows, driving tractor in the field and doing other numerous farm jobs, beside keeping up a home, raising four children and later helping raise five grandchildren (which were the joy of her life). The past thirteen years Neita has resided in Bad Axe with her son Jim. There she became acquainted with many new and wonderful friends whom she cherished very much and who brought many hours of joy and happiness to what could have been days of lonely hours.
