Bad Axe Crash Leaves One Driver Injured

A two-vehicle crash in Bad Axe sent one driver to the hospital after police say another motorist failed to yield at a flashing traffic signal.
Bad Axe Police responded shortly before 5:50 a.m. Wednesday morning, September 9th, to the intersection of North Port Crescent Street and East Huron Avenue.
Police say a 35 year old Kinde woman, driving a 2026 Ford Explorer, stopped for a flashing red light before proceeding southbound into the intersection. The Explorer collided with an eastbound 2020 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by a 26 year old Bad Axe man who was traveling through a flashing yellow signal and had the right of way.
The Malibu driver was injured and had to be extricated from his vehicle by Bad Axe firefighters. He was transported by Central Huron EMS to a McLaren emergency room for treatment. The extent of his injuries was not released.
The Explorer driver reported no injuries. Police determined she failed to yield the right of way and issued her a citation.
The Bad Axe Fire Department and Central Huron Ambulance assisted police at the scene. No additional information has been released.
