Katelyn Elizabeth Burgess Faces Charges Of Embezzlement

Katelyn Elizabeth Burgess appeared in Huron County District Court today to face a misdemeanor charge of embezzlement by an agent or trustee involving less than $200 allegedly occurring on August 23rd, 2026.

Judge Ferris entered a plea of not guilty on her behalf.

Her $3500 bond, which requires 10%, has been posted, but the court has added a condition prohibiting her from entering the Walmart in Bad Axe.

The prosecution must provide a plea offer by October 5th, 2026, with a plea cutoff hearing set for October 29th.

Attorney Martin Porzondek has been appointed to represent her for the remainder of the case.
