Detroit Fire Sergeant Faces Felony Charges In Huron County

A Detroit Fire Department sergeant is facing felony charges following an arraignment. Andrew Harper appeared before Judge Ferris regarding an incident on September 12th.
The complaint charges Harper with assaulting, resisting, or obstructing a police officer, a felony punishable by up to two years in prison.
He is also charged with a misdemeanor count of domestic violence against Rebecca Lynn Harper.
Defense attorney Dallas Rooney cited Harper's 22 year career with the fire department and his service as an army veteran, requesting a personal bond.
Judge Ferris set bond at $8,000, requiring 10% cash for release.
Conditions of bond include a no-contact order with the victim, a prohibition on firearms, and a ban on alcohol and marijuana.
Harper is scheduled for a probable cause conference on October 2nd, followed by a preliminary examination on October 23rd.
Attorney Kyle O'Mara has been appointed to represent him for the remainder of the case.
