Update On Imlay City Gun Fire During Road Rage Incident

A suspect is in custody following an investigation into gunfire directed at a moving vehicle in Imlay City.
Police say the incident happened Wednesday along M-53, between I-69 and Newark Road.
The victim was heading north when someone reportedly fired an unknown number of shots, with at least one round striking the vehicle.
Investigators recovered a shell casing and broken glass at the scene and later identified a suspect.
On Thursday, Imlay City and Almont police executed a search warrant at the suspect's home, where investigators say a large number of firearms were seized.
The suspect was not home, but police later determined the person was in the Battle Creek area. Battle Creek police were notified and took the suspect into custody without incident.
Imlay City police say the shooting was an isolated incident and there was no ongoing threat to the public.
The suspect's name is being withheld pending arraignment.
