Vance Gregory Verdier Pleads Guilty In Circuit Court

A Huron County man has pleaded guilty to a felony firearm charge. Vance Gregory Verdier entered the plea in circuit court, admitting to receiving and concealing a weapon.

Under the agreement, the prosecution will drop plans to file an additional felony firearm count, and the weapon will be forfeited to police.

Verdier told the court that on August 12th, 2026, officers found a handgun in a safe at his Bad Axe home. He admitted to purchasing the gun outside a gas station and acknowledged he should have known it was stolen.

Judge Prill set sentencing for December 7th, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Verdier remains free on a $2,500 cash surety bond.
