Cassandra Montgomery Receives Prison Time In Assault Case

A 30 year old woman is heading to prison following a sentencing hearing in Huron County Circuit Court. Cassandra Rose Montgomery appeared before Judge Prill today, facing charges of assault by strangulation and a probation violation.
Montgomery was already on probation for a previous domestic violence offense when the new incident occurred on May 9th.
According to court records, Montgomery grabbed a victim by the hair, dragged her outside, and punched her in the face, which caused the victim to lose her job.
Judge Prill noted that Montgomery has three prior domestic violence convictions dating back to 2016.
While the defense requested the court allow Montgomery to participate in an inpatient treatment program, the judge cited the need to protect society and discipline the offender.
Montgomery was sentenced to 2 years and 5 months to 10 years for the assault charge, and 36 months to 5 years for the probation violation.
The sentences will be served concurrently.
